The Wickwire Family

Jud, Karen, Jacob and Zachary Wickwire are from Kelowna, British Columbia, they have been volunteering in Guyana, South America since September of 2007.  Jud is a pilot and has been bush flying in Northern British Columbia since his early twenties and also has an extensive construction background.  Karen is a Dental Hygienist and Jacob and Zack are seven and nine respectively.  They live in the village of Mabaruma in Region 1 and work as a team with the LaBore family,  LaBore Blog .  The project that Wings for Humanity is establishing in Region 1 is intended to be permanent base with two airplanes, hanger, staff housing and related facilities.  The Wickwire’s and the LaBore’s work on close cooperation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Guyana Ministry of Health and Local Government to improve access to medical care and treatment as well as support Christian outreach ministry particularly to the Amerindian population. 

The Wickwire’s have committed to at least five years in Guyana and are excited to be a part of this work that God has prepared the way for.
